Dec. 5th was a cold night but that did not stop anyone from attending the incredible celebration and fun at the Medical Center Foundation of Hartford’s Tree of Life Celebration. With over 90 people in attendance, the evening was filled with songs, laughter, words of thanks and encouragement for all to hear how the Personal Emergency Lifeline Program saves lives every day! This community resource continues to serve our elderly and those who need assistance with a push of a button. That button means, “Help is on the Way!” For 32 years this community provides financial assistance to those who can’t afford to pay for a lifeline on their own. This year we have raised over $16,000 for people. “This is going to be a record year again!” says Deb Holtan. “One has to stand back and admire the incredible love and care that this community has for its elderly. It is so wonderful!” Donations are still being collected until Dec. 31. Everyone is welcome to give in memory or in honor of a loved one. Holtan shared, “Every light on the Tree of Life is shining in love and we are so proud to be a part of serving the community with a program that provides Peace of Mind for the clients and the families in our community.”
