Donate to one of our programs, the tribute fund, or our greatest need

The Medical Center Foundation of Hartford is locally controlled and community based, and exists to help others. All donations serve this community. Please consider donating to one of our programs, the Tribute Fund, or our Greatest Need Fund.

A gift to the foundation’s Greatest Need Fund allows us the flexibility to respond to unexpected needs that arise within our foundation. Alternatively, you may choose to donate to any of our community programs or as part of a remembrance gift. You will be able to pick whatever program you wish to donate to on the individual donation page.

Thank you for your support and encouragement to serve our neighbors.

Choose a Specific Fund or Cause

We serve our community with 5 programs: Medical Transportation, SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner), Personal Emergency Lifelines, a Fitness Program and an Adult Day Care Program. Your interest in our programs allows us to serve in many areas.

By supporting a cause or a program, you can help those who can’t afford to pay to be in a program on their own.  Your gift allows them to be in the program.

Our Promise to You

Your generous contributions will be used to contribute to the health and the vitality of the community.   We will promptly and appropriately recognize your gift. Rest assured, your information is safe with us – we will not share or disclose it to anyone.

The Gift of Remembrance

A gift to the Tribute Fund is a meaningful way to honor or remember friends and family members. A gift can be made in memory of someone special or in recognition of a significant event, such as an anniversary, birthday, retirement or recovery from illness.

When you give to the Tribute Fund, you will receive an acknowledgement of your gift, and notification will also be promptly sent to the person or family you designate. No mention of the amount of the gift is made. Gifts received in memory or in honor of an individual are recognized in the local newspapers as a tribute of love and respect.

Tree of Life Celebration

Every year on the first Wednesday of December, we celebrate the people and events in our lives that are truly special.  Gifts are given in memory or in honor or celebration of special events or people.  A white light is $10, a red light is $25, and a blue light is $100.  All gifts given go to the Personal Emergency Lifeline Program and serve local needs for lifelines.  Gift the life and love of those you love.

Other Ways to Give

Sponsor a Senior

Making a donation to support a senior at our adult day care is a wonderful way to support a senior in our community.  This support allows us to bring a personal touch to a senior’s life and directly provide them with outside support from you, and let them know they are not forgotten or alone.  We value this partnership and encourage individuals, churches, civic groups, and others to consider sponsoring a senior at our adult day care facility.

(One day sponsorship is $65-$75 depending on the level of care needed for a senior.  That’s $6.19 – $7.14/hour for a10.5 hour day.  All meals and snack are included in the day service fee.)

Volunteer

Our volunteers are a tremendous resource for the Medical Center Foundation of Hartford.  Without our volunteers, we would not be able to conduct programs, raise funds, or serve our community. We value the willingness and kindness of our volunteers. The board members who serve on our board are all volunteers.

Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place.  Contact Us To Become a Volunteer

Bequests are the transfers of wealth that occur upon a donor’s death. Bequests can take several forms:

Specific bequest – a certain amount of cash, securities, or property.

General bequest – property that is similar to all other items distributed, usually cash.

Percentage bequest – a stated percentage of the donor’s estate.

Residual bequest – all or a portion of what remains of the estate after specific and general bequests are distributed.

We can help you with your planned giving bequests.
