Personal Emergency Lifeline
Our Personal Emergency Lifeline Program offers a 24-hour connection to highly trained professionals, advanced personal monitoring technologies and peace of mind for 178 elderly or disabled individuals living alone in our community.
How does the program work?
Subscribers wear a lightweight, waterproof button. In the event the subscriber needs assistance of any kind, they simply press their button to activate the help console installed in their home. The console then dials the Response Center, connecting them to immediate help.
How much does it cost?
The charge starts at $25 / mo for the most basic model and can go up to $45 / mo for a cellular option. Some people can afford the monthly charge, but many cannot. That’s why your donation to the Medical Center Foundation of Hartford is crucial to help cover the costs of subsidized subscribers.
What if I don’t have a landline?
We have options for cellular access within the home as well as an option for those who travel frequently and want the protection no matter where they go. We can also refer to options for a home landline if subscribers prefer the landline emergency lifeline.
